Hi! I'm Asako. I was born in Tokyo.

I had received the benefits of Japanese food service industry and haven't had much care about food eating everyday. I worked hard at a company and didn't have enough time to cook and didn't know how to. I had suffered from chronic acne and constipation for a long time.

In 2012, I moved to New York because of my husband’s sudden transfer by his company. My son was 1 year old at that time.

Road, People, Food,,, everything was new for me.  I didn’t know where I can buy food. I fed him bad food like oily fried rice and too sweet bread and they brought him a bad stomach. I was so sad that I couldn't protect my son because I didn't have much knowledge about nutrition. He was a picky eater and I wanted him have a healthy diet but I didn’t know what kind in America.

Meanwhile, I found the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, the largest nutrition school in the world and I decided to enrolled it. I learned “You are what you eat” and understood how food is important for our body and how food affects our mood.

Through having the healthy diet, my son’s picky eating becomes much better than it was. My skin trouble and constipation was resolved and even mind has changed positively. During learning many countries diets I started to focus authentic healthy Japanese food.

Japanese food that uses seasonal ingredients and fermented seasonings makes your body healthy and your mind calm. I want tell the authentic cooking tips that other cooking classes don’t teach you.

I launched “Asakology” and had many cooking workshops in New York like "dashi", Sushi, Soba and  Japanese confectionary.

In 2015, I moved back to Japan after 3 years staying in New York. I gave birth my daughter in 2016.

I introduce  Japanese cuisine for foreign visitors through providing blogs and Japanese cooking classes so that they experience authentic and healthy Japanese food culture.

You can learn not only Japanese cooking but also the culture and the way of thinking. I hope you will acquire them to your knowledge and have a happy and healthy life anywhere in the world. Let’s learn and enjoy Japanese cooking together!
